Me and my husband have so much fun together.
We might not be the richest, best looking couple out there-
but we know how to have fun,
we know how to have an adventure
and we know how to love each other deeply!
Here is a fun list of goals, hobbies that my husband and I share and some things we like to do together,
and some things we don't do yet, but sounds pretty stinking fun!
(Pssstt, if you're not married, these are still pretty fun to do with a friend, or by yourself!)
1. Travel to every state!
I don't mean just drive through-
I'm talking every summer/ anniversary/ holiday,
plan a trip to somewhere you haven't ever been before.
Keep a map and mark them off as you go!
2. Eat at restaurants you have seen on TV.
We are big food network buffs,
and we have made it a goal to eat at every restaurant in our state that has been on the Food Network.
And when we travel, we also search out places that we have seen on some of our favorite shows.
(Sometimes we make special trips just to eat at new restaurants!)
You can go to google and find lists online of restaurants in your area or state that have been on shows!
3. Learn a new language together!
My parents recently learned some kind of Mandarin language together for one of my Dad's up and coming business trips.
They speak it on the phone together to practice, and things like that.
It doesn't matter if it's French or Klingon- give it a try!
Plus it would be kind of cool to have your own secret language
;)
4. Attend an auction together.
Me and my husband did this once on our honeymoon
We went to an art auction!
We had no money to spend and some time to kill, and it turns out we had a blast!
You think it wouldn't be fun- but it really is.
The energy is insane!
(I even made a few bids for fun on some of the really popular bidding war items,
just to raise my number and get the auction workers to come haggle me lol)
The food and drinks were great!
And the history!! WOW! We learned so much
We even walked away with some new favorite artist and a new appreciation for something we had never gave much thought to.
And everyone who attended this particular art auction got their own piece of art!
It was really beautiful!
Our first start to our art collection! lol
;)
5. Enroll in a local college class together, just for fun.
There is always something new to learn!
And sometimes in your college years you don't always get to take those classes that just sounded really cool
Like, Bowling, Sci-fy fiction writing, swing dancing, art, theatre, pastry culinary class, cake decorating etc....
Me and my husband would both love to take some culinary classes one day!
6. Train for a race together!
Me and my husband kind of did this when we were dating.
I decided to run a 5K so I got a group together to train- and he was one of them.
And there are so many fun races to do together!
From Color Runs to Mud Races!
7. Co-author a book or blog.
Well we are kind of doing that with this blog!
And one day my husband would love to write a book!
Or maybe just get together and write a book about your lives and give it to your kids one day.
It doesn't have to be anything ground-breaking or fancy.
Just have fun!
8. Start a small business together!
Whether it's an Etsy account, teaching music classes, event planning or opening a coffee shop!
The possibilities are endless!
(Me and my husband sometimes think about how fun it would be to start a food truck together!)
A great way to earn a little extra cash or follow your big dreams of owning a business together!
9. Rescue a pet together!
Our dog (Sally) is our baby!
I can't imagine our lives without her!
Even though we didn't get her at a shelter, we still rescued her from a some-what sketchy life.
She goes with us so many places, and we love her sooooo much!
Something wonderful happens when you become a "pet person".
=)
So go ahead share that love with a friend who needs it!
10. Start or join a club together!
A Supper Club, a Book Club, a Movie Club, a ghost hunting club or even a local band!
11. Join a charity or cause, and get involved!
Recently my husband and I joined Crisis Response International
we were trained as first responders and then we deployed to northern Colorado to help victims affected by floods
We cleaned up houses and properties of people who had lost everything.
We met some really amazing people and our hearts were changed!
(Here are some pictures from our trip)
antiques, stamps, little souvenirs, instruments, knives etc...
Whatever interests you!
13. Start a garden or mini farm!
Okay so my dream is that one day I will have my own garden where my families' veggies will come from,
A few big beautiful fruit trees, and 2 milking goats for me to make goat cheese from!
Yes this is real life. lol
A girl can dream right?
14. Enter in a contest together.
Joel and I won a couples singing competition one time and it was the most fun things ever! lol
Enter in a cook-off, a talent show, a karaoke contest, or an art show!
I promise you'll have fun and you might even win!
=)
15. Make a list of landmarks and famous places and try to go visit them all!
My husband and I have been all over!
from New mexico to florida- we find some new exciting adventure.
And lucky for us we live in a state that doesn't lack in amazing things to see and do.
Colorado.
(Here's a little slideshow of some of the places we have been and things we have done)
I think it is safe to say that my husband and I are constantly doing this one!
Between the two of us we know how to play:
Piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, bassoon, tuba and bass!
17. Become a foreign exchange student host:
this is one we haven't done- but I think it would be a really awesome experience!
Introducing them to awesome new foods, and places.
Giving them a place to live and experience new things!
It could make for a really cool time!
18. Travel the world!
Get outside the USA and have some incredible adventures!
19. Take an exercise class together!
Joel and I loveeee spin classes!
but you can join a yoga class, kick boxing, martial arts, or a ballroom dancing class!
Just something to keep you moving!
20. Explore extreme sports together:
Joel has always wanted to skydive!
Bungee jumping, jet ski, parasail, etc...
Do something you are scared of, or that is totally outside your comfort zone!
Who knows? You'll probably learn something new about yourself, and you might even like it.
=)
Now go out and try something new!
But before you go,
remember our dog I told you about?
Well until next time yall!
xoxoxo
